ABOUT THE SHOW

This is an intelligent comedy about a crew of documentary filmmakers who follow the adventures of multi-tasking publisher, producer, and historian Dave Sibray. There's never a dull moment as the team travels country roads searching for history. The series delivers a back-to-nature experience for a 21st-century audience seeking fulfillment far from urban sprawl.

DIRECTORS AND PRODUCERS

Terry Foster has over 30 years of business, marketing and management experience in diverse business environments.  His creative endeavors have developed unique skills in business development, branding, promotions and creative productions. After obtaining a degree in marketing from Marshall University in West Virginia, he ventured into the construction and building industry sector of design and architectural products. Terry also spent nearly 20 years in the Los Angeles entertainment market owning and operating talent centers that trained and promoted actors, models, singers and dancers.  He has also conducted talent search events, nationally and internationally.

TERRY FOSTER

Executive Producer

Dave Sibray is a West Virginia historian, preservationist, and publisher of West Virginia Explorer Magazine. He is a frequent public speaker and news source, sought after for his knowledge of the state's history and its tourism and real estate industries. He is the founder and publisher of West Virginia Explorer Magazine, in publication for 24 years. The magazine reaches an average of more than 10,000 readers daily, thanks to its online format. He is also known widely as an expert in historic real estate in West Virginia and is an agent for Lewisburg-based Foxfire Realty. He serves on the board of the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia and the advisory board of the National Coal Heritage Area. He frequently speaks on the economic role of historic preservation in community development.

Shane, along with his filmmaking partner David Gravely, co-founded indie media startup Butter Chicken Pictures in 2015. Under this banner they have created numerous short films, a short form web-series project, community-based documentaries, and their debut feature film It’s Gonna be a Punk Rock Summer (2018) was awarded Best WV Narrative Feature at the 2018 WV FILMmaker’s Festival. Their second feature narrative, Ambrosia! is slated for release in late 2023.

In 2015, alongside Shane Pierce, David Gravely started the film company known as Butter Chicken Pictures. Collectively they have made several shorts, (including web series episodes)  a dramatized radio play turned stage performance, a full length award winning feature called It’s Gonna Be a Punk Rock Summer, and are currently in post-production on a new full length feature entitled Ambrosia.

This personality-driven series focuses on the team's interactions with a gamut of authentic characters, including real-world experts in West Virginia travel, history, and economic development. With no shortage of wit and humor, viewers will become passionate followers of both the content and the dynamic personalities.

MEET THE ACTORS

Dave Sibray

Sibray performs as himself, host of the West Virginia Explorer Show. He is the founder and publisher of West Virginia Explorer Magazine, now in its 25th year of publication, and of New Mountain Films. He juggles the show and magazine with his statewide real estate interests.

Pierce performs as himself, one of the show's two chief writers and directors. Pierce is a West Virginia native who emphasized the state in his prior work as a director. He and Graveley had worked with many members of the cast and crew of the film Ambrosia.

Saja Montague

Montague performs the role of chief administrative supervisor. She is a photographer and film producer and produced films in which many cast and production people met. She uses her real-world knowledge of the characters to manage the magazine and production company.

Shay Delawder

Performing as the magazine's chief writer, Shay spearheads content production for the magazine. Her background in psychology helps her navigate the team's eccentricities. Shay is of Chippewa descent and often shares knowledge of Native American culture with the group.

Hannah Page Smith

Hannah performs the role of an entrepreneur vendor of teas and coffees who possesses native West Virginia sense and operates a shop near the West Virginia Explorer offices. Smith is a native of the wooded interior of the state and is a renowned equestrian.

Hannah performs the role of an entrepreneur vendor of teas and coffees who possesses native West Virginia sense and operates a shop near the West Virginia Explorer offices. Smith is a native of the wooded interior of the state and is a renowned equestrian.

Nick Yurick performs in the role of Percy Lewis, an intern whose uncle is a chief underwriter for the show.

Malik ‘Duality’ Brown

Duality Brown performs the role of an advisor and guard for the group, who takes his charge seriously. Brown is an urban music producer from New Jersey, who found himself in West Virginia during the illness of a relative here. He is a spoken word artist and songwriter.

West Virginia Explorer Magazine is an award-winning real-world publication helmed by David Sibray for a quarter century. Published online in perpetuity, it reaches more than 10,000 readers daily.
